Grails Web / Systems Developer (Closed)
Our customer is seeking a Grails Web / Systems Developer
Responsibilities:
We are looking for a flexible person who will provide web application development and operational support for the Discovery Management Organization.
In addition to their ability to develop web applications, the candidate must exhibit a wide variety of professional characteristics such as problem solving, requirements gathering, and basic project management.
The candidate must be able to provide reasonable task completion estimates they are able to commit to and achieve.
The candidate must be resourceful, eager to learn new technologies and strive for exceeding expectations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills will help this individual to fit in a great team.
An adaptive, flexible and customer service oriented personality is critical as the business and industry needs change.
The position requires the ability to work on a project from the design phase, implementation, and support focusing on the Java technology stack.
Some operational support for other technologies may be required during legacy application transformation and upgrades.
Some application support for custom and COTS applications is required.
The candidate must be able to analyze data, use case trends from various sources, and provide valued input to the team lead for solution options.
Qualifications:
Java Web Developer should possess at least 5 years of development experience using the latest Java technologies such as Spring-MVC, Groovy, Grails, and Maven.
Experience with Groovy, Grails, and Spring open source libraries.
Experience with the design and development of RESTful web services serving JSON and XML data.
Experience with client side technologies including Bootstrap, AngularJS, jQuery, HTML5, and CSS.
Experience with Apache Tomcat.
Experience with source code management tools including Subversion or Git.
Experience with continuous integration tools including Jenkins or Bamboo.
Experience with the Atlassian project toolset including Jira, Fisheye, Crucible, and Bamboo helpful.
Working knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
Working knowledge of Domain Driven Design, CQRS design methodologies.
Experience with test driven development, unit and integration testing frameworks.
Experience with databases including Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL.
Experience with PL/SQL and maintaining and troubleshooting Oracle stored procedures.
The ability to multi-task and manage their time and schedule in an efficient manner.
Required - Bachelor's, Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Compensation: Competitive based on experience.
