Bioinformatics Scientist

Our customer is seeking a Bioinformatics Scientist who will be responsible for developing kits, reagents, and algorithms which aid researchers utilizing Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) instruments.

Responsibilities:

·         Design and performance of analyses of NGS data and development of tools to carry out those analyses.

·         Analyze large data sets and create programs using a variety of scripting and programming languages.

Qualifications:

·         Strong bioinformatics analysis/scripting experience, and experience in algorithm development.

·         Experience in software design / software best practices.

·         Proficiency at programming in C++ and Java is preferred.

·         Experience analyzing Next Generation Sequencing data on Linux is strongly preferred.

·         Balance and prioritize multiple project plans to meet timelines, and communicate results and interact effectively with the wider group.

·         Ph.D. in the biological or computer sciences with 2-5 years of experience in bioinformatics.
