Staff Programmer Analyst (Closed)
Our customer is seeking a Staff Programmer Analyst who will be responsible for working with the Lead Architect to provide support for technology planning, strategy, direction and design choices within the context of business requirements for IT customers. This is a hands-on position to develop proof-of-concepts using both open source and COTS products that will be used to showcase emerging technologies to technical management and eventually transition these to both development and infrastructure staff. Emphasis will initially include developing Mobile Web applications using Sencha Touch with HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS3.
Responsibilities:
· Work with Technical and Project Management teams to develop innovative technical solutions, provide input to project roadmaps, as well as input to technical components and technical consulting as required.
· Collaborate with staff to build proof-of-concepts and/or working UI prototypes to facilitate requirements gathering and demonstrate technical vision.
· Work with vendors to explore and verify capabilities of a proposed solution and be able to articulate its ROI to senior management.
· Communicate status as part of an Agile development methodology.
· Demonstrate strong initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision or direction.
· Work with other individuals within the IT community to identify best practices and standards and work with technical leadership and management to promote them to the development and infrastructure teams.
Qualifications:
· 7+ years experience with software development for engineering users. Java EE experience is a must and experience with Groovy/Grails for fast prototyping is a plus!
· Web development experience should include RIA (ExtJS, JQuery, GWT, Adobe Flex). Sencha Touch is highly desired for mobile web application prototyping.
· Java EE experience should include both breadth and depth with using sound OOA/D principles and several open source frameworks. Experience with Spring, Hibernate, Web services, HTML/CSS, SQL, Linux, and RDBMS required.
· Liferay Portal experience customizing and building compelling portal applications that delivery information and syndicate content quickly to targeted audiences is highly desired.
· Experience desired with Composite or JackBe Presto to aggregate enterprise data into concise, meaningful components that are delivered through Liferay Portal.
· Ability to articulate a system architecture design using UML Component, Deployment, Class and Sequence diagrams.
· SOA and/or EAI experience in JMS, TIBCO, Spring Integration, as well as experience with several SOAP and REST-based Web services frameworks such as CXF and Jersey.
· Ability to ensure secure applications in an SSO environment using Siteminder, Spring Security, LDAP, and WS-Security standards.
· Prior experience integrating with enterprise COTS solutions such as Documentum, SharePoint, Oracle solutions (ERP, Agile, CRM), and MS Office.
· Experience with various IDE and development tools (Eclipse, IntelliJ, Subversion, Maven, Bamboo, etc.).
· Ability to deploy applications and work on various O/S platforms (Linux, Solaris, Windows). UNIX/VI skills a must!
· Must be able to multi-task and work on multiple projects at one time to support all on-going initiatives.
· Prior experience with Agile software development methodologies such as Scrum is a plus.
· Ability to adapt to changing technology trends and customer demands.
· Solid written and verbal communication skills to demonstrate POCs and ROI to lead architect and various audiences.
· Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering or Applied Mathematics required.
