Traffic Management Engineer (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking a Traffic Management Engineer for our client in Richardson, TX. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Job Description:

  • Traffic Management Engineer provides subject matter expertise for our Client’s Delivery Network (ADN). ADN is a suite of technologies deployed in the enterprise that, when deployed together, provide application availability, security, visibility, and acceleration services for client applications. Specific focus for this engineering position is to design and implement load balancing solutions including LTM, GTM, SSL Certificate Management and Authoritative DNS Services. This position will require off hours technical support (nights and weekends) to implement all required changes to the environment.
  • Application Delivery Controller (ADC) - F5 Local Traffic Manager (LTM) & Global Traffic Manager (GTM)
  • Authoritative External DNS: F5 BIG-IP GTM [Static & Dynamic Zones], AVI Traffic Manager
  • Understanding of SSL Certificate Private Key Infrastructure (PKI) in the SSL Certificate and KEY management and rollover process.
  • LTM/GTM CLI (Command Line Interface)
  • Candidates must have strong knowledge of Local Traffic Manager (LTM) & Global Traffic Manager (GTM). Candidate must also be proficient with command line interface (Linux and tmsh). Changes cannot be made to LTM/GTM (Local Traffic Manager / Global Traffic Manager) devices via GUI. Knowledge of AVI load balancer is a plus.

SSL Certificates:

  • Strong knowledge of SSL Certificate Private Key Infrastructure (PKI) in the SSL Certificate and KEY management. In depth knowledge of SSL cryptographic protocol in securing communications over the Internet and the ability to leverage F5 BIG-IP Application Delivery Controllers in performing SSL offload (client decryption) and server encryption solutions.
  • Knowledgeable of F5 system logging event types and logging levels
  • Expertise in planning, designing, and implementing enterprise-level network security technologies.
  • Expert understanding of network protocols.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication. Ability to present at an executive level.
  • 3-5 years network engineering and/or technology management experience
  • B.S. degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or relevant experience
  • Proven ability to manage short & long-term engagements with multiple project tracks and teams
  • Ability to interact with clients at all level, from the C-Level to IT individual contributor
