Tableau Back End Developer (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking a Tableau Back End Developer for our client in Charlotte, NC. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Job Description:

• Back-end Developer who will work with team members to troubleshoot and improve current back-end applications and processes. The Back-end Developer will use his or her understanding of programming languages and tools to analyze current codes and industry developments, formulate more efficient processes, solve problems, and create a more seamless experience for users. Should have strong troubleshooting and analytical skills to understand root cause of complex Tableau Server / platform issues.
• Compile and analyze data, processes, and codes to troubleshoot problems and identify areas for improvement.
• Collaborating with the front-end developers and other team members to establish objectives and design more functional, cohesive codes to enhance the user experience.
• Developing ideas for new programs, products, or features by monitoring industry developments and trends.
• Recording data and reporting it to proper parties, such as clients or leadership.
• Participating in continuing education and training to remain current on best practices, learn new programming languages, and better assist other team members.
• Should be able to develop with Tableau's JavaScript API to integrate with existing Tableau Dashboards.
• Should be able to write effective Java or Python based scripts to call API based data sources and yield Tableau data extracts or .hyper files as datasets.
• Should be able to query object-oriented databases via Tableau's Python or Java SDK and Extract API to create and publish data extracts onto Server.
• Should be able to automate server tasks.
• Should be able to programmatically code JavaScript-based Tableau extensions to enable capabilities like Natural Language Generation, Write-back to a database, export to PowerPoint, etc..
• Should be able to query object oriented databases via Tableau's Python or Java SDK and Extract API to create and publish data extracts onto Server.
• Should be able to automate server tasks.
• Should be able to programmatically code JavaScript-based Tableau extensions to enable capabilities like Natural Language Generation, Write-back to a database, export to PowerPoint, etc.
