Scrum Master (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking a Scrum Master for our client in Jacksonville, FL OR Plano, TX OR Newark, DE OR Charlotte NC. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Responsibilities:

• Coaches the team in the agile process and helps apply the principles
• Coordinates and facilitates scrum team ceremonies including daily stand-ups, story grooming sessions, and retrospectives (meetings start at 8:30 ET to accommodate both US and India participants)
• Helps the team break down stories into a manageable amount of work
• Ensure team stays on track to meet goals and objectives
• Acts as the voice of the team and protects the team from outside influence and distractions
• Manages, resolves, and escalates team level impediments as appropriate
• Reports team plans, results and issues and tracks scrum team performance
• Takes accountability for the health of the team and drives for continuous improvement
• Coordinates estimation of initiative projects
• Attends prioritization and integration meetings
• Works with release management team to ensure that the team deliverables meet RM requirements
• Participates in production deployment and communicates status
• Performs triage for any defect identified in relation to scrum team deployment

Skill Set:

• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
• 3+ years Agile experience required (Scaled Agile certification required)
• Experience writing Agile features and stories
• Proficiency in JIRA
• Competency with writing SQL, preferably Oracle SQL
• Familiarity with both waterfall and agile methodologies
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and drive consensus amongst business and tech partners in order to meet tight deadlines
• Knowledge of Microsoft OS and proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Visio
• Over 7 years of applicable experience
• Experience working with virtual teams (e.g. onshore/offshore model) is a plus

Location:

• Preference is for position to be fulfilled in Jacksonville, Florida where team is located
• Position can also be filled in the following secondary locations – Plano, TX, Newark, DE, and Charlotte, NC
