Python / SQL Developer (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking a Python / SQL Developer our client in Charlotte, North Carolina. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Description:

  • The senior software developer is a hands-on role that will engage with a team of developers, architects, stakeholders, and scrum master to design and build software and data solutions. The ideal candidate should have the ability to engage with the product owner, analyze the requirements, design, and perform data modeling, ETL, and process WorkFlows.
  • The candidate will be a part of a growing team that deploys models, performs ML/Ops activities, writes custom python script, and build or maintain RESTful APIs.

Required Skills

  • Participate in design, integration, and development of best-in-class model deployment from one platform to another
  • Develop custom transforming scripts using python and enhance the deployment procedure
  • Must have hands-on experience either in IBM Cloud Pak for data / AWS / Azure cloud platforms to perform ML/Ops related work
  • Solve business and data engineering problems by utilizing best practices to create and enhance data models and ETL pipelines
  • Assist with developing automated data solutions to solve internal and external data needs
  • Collaborate with Product Owner to further understand Stakeholder needs and assist with creating custom reports as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors-degree in computer science, computer engineering, or similar area
  • 1-2 years of development using IBM Cloud Pak for Data - 3-5 years of development using open-source software such as Python, Git, H2O
  • 3-5 years of development of RESTful APIs and model scoring service (end point) - 7-10 years of experience utilizing SQL - 2-3 years of experience in Agile development using tools such as Jira

Desired Skills:

  • Deployment in a containerized environment (Openshift/ Kubernetes)
  • Knowledge of IBM Spectrum is a plus
  • Batch and Real-Time Deployment/Scoring and support experience
  • 3-5 years in UNIX environment
  • 3-5 years in Hadoop experience
  • Ability to work independently to prioritize workload and handle multiple responsibilities, deadlines, etc.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities
  • High attention to detail to identify, evaluate, and resolve issues
  • Thrives in a team-oriented, results-driven environment
  • Excellent oral presentation and written communication skills
