Java Developer (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking a Java Developer for our client in Addison, TX. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Job Description:

  • Responsible for developing and delivering complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Key responsibilities of the role include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements. This role ensures solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset. These individuals possess strong proficiency in development and testing practices common to the industry, and have extensive experience of using design and architectural patterns
  • Contribute to story refinement/defining requirements.
  • Participate in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle.
  • Perform spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas.
  • Code solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements.
  • Assist team with resolving technical complexities involved in realizing story work.

  • IBM Web Sphere Application Server v7 (must)

  • IBM Rational Application Developer v8.5 (must)
  • SOAP / Web Service development
  • DATABASE 
  • DB2
  • Skilled at writing SQL

Desired Skills:

  • Experienced with working in an Agile environment
  • Proficiency in JIRA and Confluence
  • Experience writing Agile stories
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
  • Capable of clear and concise communication with customers and other non-technical people
  • Ability to clearly articulate design strategies both orally and in written form
  • Strong focus on quality design and development
  • Knowledge of Microsoft OS and proficiency in MS Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • Experience working with distributed team
