IT Project Manager V (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking a Technical Project Manager for our client in Richardson, Texas. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Description:

• Provide project management support to ensure that projects are delivered on time and on budget
• Provide administration/management support to program delivery and service delivery as needed
• The Technical Project Manager (TPM) position is a project manager of technical projects. A TPM works closely with Application, Infrastructure, and Line of Business Subject Matter Experts to:
• Manage technology infrastructure projects
• Help define business and technical requirements
• Facilitate development of infrastructure designs/solutions
• Facilitate infrastructure build out
• Support implementation/go live
• Facilitate decommission of old infrastructure
• We need an excellent communicator with strong problem resolution skills who thrives on working in a team environment.

Highly Desirable SkillSets:

• Excellent interpersonal, written and team collaboration skills
• Project management experience: managing project budgets, experience with work breakdown structures, integrated project planning and management, coordinating infrastructure and networking designs and deployment activities
• Experienced with Microsoft Project, Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint
• Strong knowledge of Financial control/budgeting and consolidation
• A background in managing Technology Infrastructure projects.
• Strong soft skills, as they will be required to lead meetings and facilitate discussions on topics.
• The ability to speak to both the technical and business units.
• Strong leadership skills along with being a self-starter.
• High level understanding of following technologies:

• Operating Systems – Linux, Unix, Windows, Mainframe
• Application – Java (J2EE and JVM) , .Net, WebSphere, WebLogic, JBoss, Tomcat, Apache, MQ,
• Database – Oracle, SQL, DB2, Sybase, Netezza, Teradata
• Hardware – Processor types, RAID, Memory types
• Virtual machines (i.e. VMware, hosted virtual desktop)
• Storage – SAN, NAS, Local, OPTIM, data archiving
• Networking – Routing, switching, load balancing, global load balancing, TCP/IP, backups, centralized logging
• Security – Single Sign-on, Firewall, VPN, IPS/IDS, Multi-factor authentication, Active Directory, Power Broker
• Internet – DNS, FTP, NDM, Web servers, Email
• Other – Visio, MS Office
