Hadoop Production Support (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking a Hadoop Developer / Platform Support for our client in Plano, TX. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Job Description:

• Assists with developing and streamlining the current batch process. Monitor batches, investigate and resolve issues, assist development, QA and UAT teams for Code deployments, batch execution and data analysis support. Works closely with upstream and downstream applications and a geographically distributed team. 
• 10 + years. Develops, enhances, tests, supports, maintains and debugs software applications that support business units or support functions. A senior member of the technical team responsible for assisting senior business leaders and management. May provide strategic technical direction and system architecture for individual initiatives. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of technological alternatives and business system requirements to recommend innovations that enhance and/or provide a competitive advantage to the organization. Leads or has responsibility for estimation of effort for software application for one or more programmers. Coordinates collaboration with external programming teams to deliver software on time and within budget. Provides feedback and technical guidance to project managers on issues of critical importance to achieving business objectives. Is clearly recognized as a content expert by peers

Required Skills:

• 5+ years of experience working in a hadoop/ETL production support or environment support role. Strong SQL skills, Shell Scripting and AUTOSYS knowledge, Jira/Ansible/Datical deployments experience,4 -6 years of experience with at least one RDBMS( SQL Server/ Oracle/ Teradata)., Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail, Self-starter, comfortable in a fast paced and dynamic environment, Strong written and verbal communication, Strong debugging skills, SQL, Shell scripting, Data analysis skills using SQL, Excel, Shell scripts, Responsible for the review and analysis of complex application issues, Fulfilling ad hoc data requests, application configuration or customization before release to end users.

Desired Skills:

• Bachelor's/Master’s Degree in Computer Science .
• Theoretical or work(support/Dev) experience with Hadoop is desired.
