Appian Developer (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking an Appian BPM Developer for our client in Plano, Texas. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Description:

  • 10 + years. Develops, enhances, tests, supports, maintains and debugs software applications that support business units or support functions. A senior member of the technical team responsible for assisting senior business leaders and management. May provide strategic technical direction and system architecture for individual initiatives. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of technological alternatives and business system requirements to recommend innovations that enhance and/or provide a competitive advantage to the organization. Leads or has responsibility for estimation of effort for software application for one or more programmers. Coordinates collaboration with external programming teams to deliver software on time and within budget. Provides feedback and technical guidance to project managers on issues of critical importance to achieving business objectives. Is clearly recognized as a content expert by peers

Job Description and Responsibilities / Additional Information:

  • This position requires the individual to play role as an Appian Developer, SME, development lead for mid-size to large initiatives thereby ensuring all applications are following SDM Lean Agile, best practices in design & development and help establish the technical vision for the future scale of our organization. Able to translate business requirements to the functional capabilities of the application. Works independently on assignments based on specific requirements and able to lead technical team. Able to identify and articulate the risks during development & deployment. Able to coordinate and communicate with various external teams.

Required Skills:

  • “Must” have these skills to be minimally qualified:
  • Lead Designer / Designer Certification of Appian 18.2 or above is preferred.
  • Experience in design and development in Appian BPM including components such as Tempo, Mobility Features, Forums, SAIL, Plugin development, Smart Services, Reports and Deployment etc.
  • Expertise in designing and implementing BPM solutions for process simplification, case management and role based applications.
  • Exceptional knowledge of the product including BPM Fundamentals, Architecture Components, Technical Features such as Designer Features, Configurations in Appian etc.
  • Expertise in business Integration deployment and human task management using Appian 18 & higher versions.
  • Expertise in building rules engine to support processes.
  • Strong knowledge in Object Oriented concepts, encryption\decryption techniques and security.
  • Strong knowledge in design patterns (Service level and data level, Integration and process).
  • Solid understanding of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Good analytic skills, flexibility and the ability to adapt to emerging technologies and tools.
  • Good working knowledge of the software development life cycle
  • Effectively work as part of a globally blended team of resources (both Associates and vendors).

 

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in the financial services or similar industry is preferred
  • Knowledge of other BPM products like Pega as well as automation testing would be nice to have.
  • Experience with JIRA/Rally or other agile tools is preferred
  • Expertise in developing Business Orchestration based integrations based on SOA
  • Good experience in BPEL (Business Process Execution language) to create process and flows.
  • Experience in using built-in adapters and building customer adapters using JAVA.
  • Experienced in developing SOA based business integration/process integration solutions using Web Services, REST, XML, JSON, JMS, Email, File, and SFTP.
  • Experience with database design.
  • Expertise in using CI\CD Pipeline for Appian.
  • Experience with large enterprise development and release procedures is preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science required or equivalent
