API Solutions Architect (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking an API Solutions Architect for our client in Addison, Texas. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Description:

  • The Senior API Solutions Architect will deliver future-proof architectural solutions to support the evolution of the Global Human Resources (GHR) Data & Analytics Technology organization. This role is responsible for designing solutions that not only solve for existing data challenges but also bridges the technology to a desired future state of emerging technologies.
  • This role will set the strategic vision for GHR data architecture across data ecosystem platforms and technologies and will translate business requirements to scalable & sustainable technical solutions. We are looking for someone who can help shape the future data strategy, technology roadmap and mentor development teams on methodologies, processes and best practices on data architectures, data management and governance.
  • 6+ years of architecture experience in data & analytics ecosystem technologies like Mule ESB Platform, Java/ J2EE, SOAP and REST API, Oracle PL/SQL, XML/ XSD/ JSON
  • 6+ years developing software in Java/ J2EE, Mulesoft, PL/SQL, UNIX, and/or Python.
  • Experience in modern application development and deployment (Agile methodology, Automated Testing, Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery)
  • Experience with large enterprise data warehouse architecture design including logical and physical model development.
  • Extensive experience architecting and building solutions using modern distributed system stacks (GCP, Azure, etc.)
  • Experience designing solutions for multiple large data platform ecosystems
  • Extensive experience in layered solutions and designs, diverse technical configurations, across multiple technologies and processing environments.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills - including negotiation, facilitation, and consensus building skills; ability to influence and persuade, without direct control.
  • Strong desire to drive change, and ability to adapt to change quickly.
  • Ability to balance the long-term "big picture" and short-term implications of decisions.
  • Ability to think strategically and relate architectural decisions/recommendations to business needs.
  • Experienced across all phases of data modeling, from conceptualization to database optimization.
  • Providing technical leadership for data architecture and design optimized for security, scalability, and sustainability
  • Aligning data architecture with business and technology strategy and effectively communicating to business and technical partners across senior levels of the organization
  • Creating and maintaining domain architecture strategies, blueprint and roadmaps through documentation of systems, architectures, process flows and value-chain models that show the evolution of systems from current to target state to meet strategic business, financial and technology objectives.
  • Working with business process and data governance teams to introduce and maintain data platforms, data governance and data security capabilities and documentation including establishing the roadmap
  • Facilitating solution-driven discussions, lead the design of complex architectures, and find creative solutions through their knowledge of the domain, practical experiments, and Proof of Concepts (POCs).
  • Acting as a control function to ensure adherence of designs to blueprints, architectural principles and enterprise standards
  • Leveraging technical expertise to support vendor selection activities including recommendations of when to make the appropriate build vs. buy decisions.
  • Sponsoring design and code reviews to ensure all non-functional requirements for a solution are sufficiently met (for example, security, performance, maintainability, scalability, usability, and reliability).
  • Building a unified data and analytics ecosystem that drives improved business decisions supported by transformative emerging technology architecture capabilities
  • Reviewing and ensuring architectural designs are consistent, maintainable, flexible, and cost effective.
  • Reviewing and ensuring data security and privacy standards are implemented including role based security, encryption, tokenization, and obfuscation.
  • Providing strategic guidance to senior leadership for data movement strategies, data obfuscation (data masking), record retention strategy (Deletion and Archival), data infrastructure/security, the operational data store (ODS) and the operational reporting strategy.
  • Interpreting and delivering impactful plans that specify strategy and improve data integration, data quality and data delivery in support of business initiatives and strategic roadmaps.
