Title: Training Coordinator

Location: McLean, VA

Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities: The Training Coordinator will support the sponsor in preparing and conducting training programs, holding seminars and/or discussion groups. Designs and delivers programs to train all levels of personnel. Develops tests and visual aids, conducts trainings classes, and develops criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities. Formulates teaching outline in conformance with selected instructional methods, utilizing knowledge of specified training needs and effectiveness of such training methods as group instruction, demonstrations, meetings, and workshops. Keeps abreast of training and development research: learning theory, motivation theory, and new materials, methods, and techniques. Confers with sponsor and clients to gain knowledge of situations requiring training and to better understands changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives and technologies. Selects or develops teaching aids such as demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works. Facilitates the execution of all training programs.

Required Qualifications:

• Strong representational and interpersonal skills and initiative
• Extensive experience with and knowledge of developing and executing training plans.
• Willingness on occasion to work unusual or extended hours to support COOP exercises.
• Experience with former and new Sponsor organizations.
• Ability to professionally work independently as well as in a team environment and navigate ambiguity with minimal supervision.
• Ability to facilitate meetings and table top exercises and respectfully challenge senior leader assumptions.
• Strong critical thinking, planning, and Project Management skills.

Desired Qualifications:

• Extensive experience with and knowledge of Sponsor’s COOP Program.
• Federal Continuity Planner Certification from DHS or FEMA.
