Test Engineer & ATE Subject Matter Expert (Closed)

The SkillStorm customer is seeking a Test Engineer & ATE Subject Matter Expert who will be responsible for providing expertise to the Company for the acquisition, implementation and maintenance of our automatic testing system (aka ATE).

 

Responsibilities:

·         Analyze and understand the client's test requirements for its key products.

·         Apply industry standard ATE practices and record keeping techniques.

·         Define and assist with acquisition of outstanding ATE equipment items on a most cost effective basis.

·         Develop LabView routines which will drive the ATE system and supply the desired results.

·         Assist with assembly set up, calibration, and implementation of the client's ATE test program.

·         Completely document all test processes and catalogue master software copies.

·         Educate and train the client's quality personnel in the safe, proper, and efficient use of the system.

  • Develops system designs.
  • Develops detailed equipment lists.
  • Provides input for pricing models for the proposal.
  • Develops project timelines and schedules.

Qualifications:

·         Must have a broad general familiarity with electronics and radio communications ATE systems, specifically HF, VHF or UHF radio.

·         Must have thorough understanding necessary and required tests in a manufacturing production and R&D environment. 

·         Must be familiar with common RF tests such as, RF power, modulation, distortion, SINAD, general functionality tests.

·         Must be able to setup critical pass/fail/marginal pass detection systems and recordkeeping.

·         Must be able to manage software required to operate the ATE systems, including devise, code, modify and maintain same.

·         Must have experience preparing bids, proposals, customer estimates, including performing research on available ATE equipment vendors.

·         At least 5-7 years industry and / or military-government experience outside of school. 

·         High School graduate or equivalent required.

·         Bachelors’ degree in a technical related field (BSEE preferred).

·         Proficiency with MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & MS Project).

·         Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

·         Ability to prioritize and work well under pressure and against deadlines.

·         Excellent interpersonal skills in a team environment.

·         Must not have any medical limitations preventing the use & exposure to typical chemicals utilized in field installation activity (Examples include, solder, flux, cleaning solutions, and paint).

·         Must have sufficient physical agility to perform site survey work in the factory under many different conditions. 

·         Must be able to work indoors, outdoors, and in various geographical conditions.

·         Domestic travel – typically 1-5%.

·         International travel – typically 1-5%.
