Technical Business Analyst (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking a Technical Business Analyst for our client in Charlotte, NC. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Job Description:

  • The individual should be a creative and strategic thinker with the ability to influence, build trusted relationships across the organization, deal constructively with conflict, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Act as key liaison across businesses, other agile teams, and the program team. Responsible for the day-to-day engagement with stakeholders for building and enhancing features. Build strong relationships with users and drive stakeholder onboarding. Provides guidance and expertise to business partners and users from many different technical and non-technical areas. Use the right questions to uncover root causes to technical challenges, identify opportunities and make recommendations. Work with the product owner and business stakeholders to discover new requirements and document with user stories. The candidate will need the ability to think holistically and help identify cross team dependencies. Contributes to the successful implementation of features by optimizing the flow of stories and the value delivered. Requires working with Business Partners and application SMEs to identify and mitigate risk and execution of the delivery of end-to-end technology solutions. Must be able to manage to timelines and communicate feature status within the team but also with leadership and business partners.

Required Skills:

  • Agile methodology experience (SAFe preferred)
  • Business/Technical Analyst experience
  • User story writing experience
  • Strong technology knowledge and experience in working in complex IT engagements
  • Participate in and lead various projects that require strong project documentation and stakeholder engagement
  • Build strong relationships with business partners
  • Compile, create, summarize/analyze, and communicate data clearly and concisely to help drive fact-based decision making
  • Drive a repeatable and sustainable process to ensure objectives are being met
  • Effectively document business requirements in a user story format
  • Coordination and organization skills, help run meetings, track progress
  • Meet with business partners on a regular basis for support and updates
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to break down complex information to business partners while still being clear and concise
  • Problem solving and decision making skills:Thinking analytically, applying research skills and knowing how to and where to go to solve problems
  • Identify process improvements and recommend possible solutions
  • Create clear agile user stories with proper description and acceptance criteria
  • Strong technology knowledge and experience in working in complex IT engagements

Required Qualifications (3-7 years' experience):

  • Must have at least 3 years of practical Agile experience
  • Develop functional & business requirements, workflows, use stories, use cases, and perform data analysis
  • Excellent relationship management, communication, teamwork, and influence skills; ability to operate at senior levels in both written and verbal communications interacting professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts
  • Highly versed in various SDLC methodologies, including but not limited to Scrum, SAFe, Kanban
  • Must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Understands all aspects of PI Planning from preparation to execution
  • Strong knowledge and experience with functional analysis elicitation and documentation techniques such as Epic, Feature, and User Story documentation
  • Effective multi-task and management of priorities; Ability to juggle multiple demands and reprioritize as necessary to align with changing business objectives
  • Proficient at Agile Work Management tools i.e. JIRA, Agileview, Confluence
  • Problem solver with a bias for action, strong initiative for consulting
  • Must be detailed-oriented, results-driven, highly energetic and motivated with a high degree of independence
  • Work in partnership with Scrum Master and product owners to execute on initiative work
  • Works with Product Owners to establish and maintain Product/Story Roadmaps
  • Research and analysis to facilitate solution determination
  • Provide program recommendations based on facts and processes from the business
  • Facilitate completion of project artifacts
  • Capability to assist in system testing
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, related field, or equivalent experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous experience at Client on an enterprise team a plus
  • Working knowledge of database systems, experience with SQL a plus
  • Agile team member assisting a Product Owner/Product Manager
  • Working knowledge of JIRA and Confluence
