Technical / Application Security Analyst (Closed)

Technical / Application Security Analyst for our client in Charlotte, NC. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Position Summary:

  • The role is responsible for the understanding, assessing the impact of, and implementing control functions regarding new technical bank policies and vendor maintenance events for the CashPro Alerts, Fraud, and Security development teams. The individual will partner closely with the application control specialist to intake the new policies or changes, then research and/or return the requested information and then implement routines to ensure future compliance. The individual will have the support of the key software engineering resources as needed to aid in their responsibilities. This resource will need to understand technical architecture and application design to aid in researching. You may be an ideal candidate if you have previous experience as part of an architecture or software engineering team, or as a technical analyst.

Responsibilities:

  • Investigate abnormal behavior for threats or system abuse.
  • Identify emerging threats and fraud patterns.
  • Recommend potential application solutions to prevent abuse.
  • Stays up to date on trending malware and major security vulnerabilities.
  • Communicate scope and impact of identified issues.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in data analytics, data aggregation tools and large data sets (e.g.Big Data).
  • Knowledgeable in common application security vulnerabilities, their impacts, and remediation.
  • Deep knowledge of application layer of network stack (GET, POST, HTTP).
  • Experience with at least one common programming languages (Python, Java, C++, .NET).
  • Strong organizational and process management skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Can distill metrics and research into concise statements for senior leaders.
  • Familiarity with Regular Expressions.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills.

Desired Skills:

  • Has in depth of knowledge around current commercial malware, their attack vectors and techniques.
  • Experience in either web application development or web application security.
  • Familiarity with fraudster techniques and signatures of malware.
  • Experience with scripting languages (JavaScript, jQuery, Python).
