Tableau Engineer (Closed)
SkillStorm is seeking a Tableau Engineer for our client in Pennington, NJ OR Charlotte, NC. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.
Job Description:
- Role is accountable for Tableau reporting visualization and analysis, and may identify themes and trends at the function or product level.
Responsibilities:
- Design, development, testing and deployment of Tableau dashboards
- Leverage advanced Tableau capabilities (parameters, actions, tooltip, modifications, API etc.) to create analytical dashboards
- Lead development of Business Intelligence solutions prototypes that demonstrate strong performance and usability to line of business stakeholders
- Understanding of relational database structures and business objectives to extract from various source databases, normalization of data, and automation of processes
- Proactively identify and interpret results in effort to communicate issues, risks, blockers to assignments and escalate areas of concern
- Identify and understand results and respond to queries about data or reported information
- Write documentation
- Perform data quality validations
- Collaborate with business contacts to understand data needs
Required Skills and Experience:
- Must have advanced experience with the design and development of reports in Tableau
- Advanced experience with data modeling and relational databases
- Advanced experience in using tools such as SQL/SSIS/Hadoop/Oracle or Teradata
- Advanced experience with SQL stored procedures
- Experience with software specifications, design, implementation and deployment
- Proficient in Agile / Scrum development methodology
- Written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with stakeholders in a clear, concise, and influential way
- Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Able to learn effectively and think critically to solve problems
- Data quality mindset
- Takes initiative and manages time well
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Programming knowledge (VBA, Python)
- MS Excel automation experience
- Knowledge of EET/ETS functions and process flow within the bank
