Sr. Systems Engineer (Closed)

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain a secure enterprise network spread across Azure and physical data centers
• Manage private and publicly-routable IP space, as well as external and internal routing
• Maintain Cisco and Fortigate hardware solutions across multiple sites
• Maintain DNS and DHCP solutions for on-premise data centers
• Maintain vSphere network, storage, and compute
• Upgrade and replace physical hardware as needed
• Maintain virtual machines and other resources, especially for security
• Manage Azure environment, including policies, subscriptions, networking, storage, compute, and other SaaS resources
• Manage external platform services such as websites, domain registration, etc.
• Develop and operate a monitoring system across the infrastructure
• Assist in hybrid private/public cloud planning
• Assist in developing, implementing, operating, and testing the disaster recovery plan
• Collaborate within TechOps on enterprise security planning and implementation
• Work closely with Engineering teams
• Teach and mentor junior engineers

Requirements

• Proficiency with Cisco and Fortigate hardware and software
• Clear understanding of and experience with internet and internetwork routing
• Experience with IPSec and L2TP implementations
• Experience with software-defined networking solutions, such as vSphere NSX, or any public cloud networking
• Experience with vSphere, including vCenter, vSAN, and vMotion configuration
• Expertise with Linux; familiarity with Windows
• Expertise with Azure IaaS and SaaS
• Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
• Ability to work independently
• Excellent communications and leadership skills
• BSc/BA in Computer Science or a related degree, or sufficient certifications from accredited institutions to demonstrate reasonable equivalent knowledge

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

• 5+ years of network and system administration experience, including both on-premises and public cloud
• VMware and Azure certifications
• Experience with NIST 800-53 and DoD STIG configs is highly beneficial
