Solutions Architect (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking a Solution Architect for our client in Atlanta, (Kennesaw) GA OR Addison, TX OR Newark, DE OR Charlotte NC. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Job Description:

  • Strong developer and strategic thinker with experience in designing new or supporting existing large scale enterprise systems. Possesses the technical chops and willingness to get their own work done while sharing expertise and best practices with other developers. Key responsibilities include continuously improving the design, quality, and reuse of the solution and delivering technology enablers that improve development efficiencies for the solution. Will be involved with supporting a large legacy Production platform and assisting in its in-place conversion to be fully .Net. Needs to be aware of and committed to modern design principles, platform security, enterprise directives and industry regulations 
  • Leads the planning, definition, and design of complex features which span multiple teams
  • Works independently to develop complex .NET software components using C#
  • Reads code in multiple languages and inspects infrastructure in order to thoroughly understand current state before requesting or implementing changes
  • Generates and updates verbal and visual documentation of system features, interfaces and infrastructure
  • Consults with line of business, enterprise architecture, information security, technical support and other internal organizations
  • Works with Product Managers/Owners to plan and prioritize technology-focused backlog items for the architecture runway to enable epics/features
  • Clarify the architecture and creates systems design for the development teams to support implementation and provide solution options to resolve any architectural impediments
  • Guides peers in applying team design goals, enterprise policies and industry technical direction to application platform and team development practices
  • Perform design and code reviews to ensure all non-functional requirements for a solution are sufficiently met
  • Support/mentor/coach teams(s) on design and best practices for high code performance
  • Participates in and contributes in Agile ceremonies including stand-ups, story grooming, sprint demos and retrospectives (meetings start at 8:30 ET to accommodate both US and India participants)
  • Assists in production deployment, verification of releases or maintenance, and issue triage
  • Things that differentiate a solution architect from a lead developer are understanding and responsibility for the big picture and planning

Some Of These Activities Are:

  • Develop technology roadmap and vision with senior leadership team
  • Work with the business to redesign project requests to align with the technology roadmap and vision
  • Educate team members on technology practices, standardization strategies and best practices to create innovative solutions
  • Builds the capability of individuals/teams through proof of concept experimentation
  • Ideate and groom architectural runway stories for the team
  • Analyze existing code base to create current state diagrams
  • Partner with infrastructure and CI/CD teams to have a common strategy

Skill Set:

  • 10+ years Microsoft stack development experience required (exposure to other stacks a plus)
  • 3+ years Agile experience required (Scaled Agile certification strongly preferred)
