Solutions Architect (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking a Big Data Architect for our client in Charlotte, NC. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Job Description:

  • Our Client is seeking a solution architect, with experience using, tools/analytic methods (predictive analytics) within “big data” environments to help maximize use of these new data platforms and deliver strategic advantage and growth to our business partners.
  • Responsibilities will include assisting domain architects in defining comprehensive solutions that meet business needs while leverage the best possible combination of existing platforms with the latest marketing technology solution sets.
  • The Architect will be accountable for partnering with key roles (e.g. project managers, application owners, business analysts, strategic architects etc.) to create solutions that are aligned to the architecture principles, leverage common solutions and services, and meet the financial targets (cost and benefits).
  • Within the solution development lifecycle this role provide consulting during the detailed design, build, test and deploy phases, and be reengaged to perform benefits realization. Serves as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource; routine accountability is for technical knowledge and capabilities as a team member or as an individual contributor. Typically 7-10 years of systems experience.
  • This is a unique opportunity to drive both the strategy and tactical execution around the way in which we evolve our marketing solutions to enhance the customer experience, expand self-service capabilities and inform and drive our marketing and sales strategies. This work is in lock step with customer focused mandate to “help make our customers financial lives better” and has support of the senior leadership.
  • Responsible for Retail & Preferred Technology and Global Wealth Management Technology & Operations (RPT and GWIM T&O) data architecture future strategy and roadmap.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist in Work Effort Sizing with PM support
  • Produce conceptual and logical architectures to meet strategic business, financial and technology objectives through documentation of systems, architectures, process flows and value-chains
  • Support Functional & Technical Requirements gathering
  • Ensure alignment of initiative and low level designs against the agreed architectures and technology strategies.
  • Provide continuous feedback between strategic and solutions architecture.
  • Promote adherence of designs to bank policies and standards, architectural principles and guidelines.
  • Manage tradeoffs between speed to market, quality and financial impact.
  • Ensure adherence to the architecture governance processes and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. 
  • Experience / Exposure5+ years in enterprise, application and information architecture design or development
  • Understanding of service oriented architecture databases, data modeling techniques
  • Proven experience performing similar functions in complex and large organizations
  • Ability to comfortably and credibly present to senior management. Be able to articulate the value proposition of getting solutions built using sound architecture principles
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment with minimal supervision
  • Ability to develop detailed documentation
  • Excellent written, verbal and diagramming skills
