Your first software role, built by a company that does nothing but build software careers.
At SkillStorm, launching technologists is the whole business. We develop technology talent for Fortune 100 enterprises and U.S. government agencies. You'll join us in a paid role, spend 12 weeks in hands-on training tackling real, team-based projects, and then deploy directly to an enterprise or government client, effective day one. There's no tuition and no course fee. You're an employee from the start, on a clear path from "qualified" to "deployed professional."
Who this is for
We hire people who are early in their technical careers and want a structured way into enterprise software work. That includes recent graduates, career changers who already have a technical foundation, and transitioning service members and veterans. What they share is solid fundamentals and real drive.
Minimum qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a similar technical field
- At least 1 year of technical work experience
And a working grasp of programming fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, databases and SQL, and software development in an object-oriented language like Java or C#.
Every applicant who meets one of these paths gets an individual review for fit. Not sure you qualify? Apply anyway. Deciding is our job, so don't screen yourself out.
What sets strong candidates apart:
- Sharp problem-solving and logical reasoning skills
- Clear communication, written and verbal, with both teammates and stakeholders
- Eligibility to obtain a U.S. government security clearance
- Willingness to relocate for a client placement
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. as a SkillStorm W2 employee (C2C arrangements are not available)
A note for veterans and transitioning service members: Structured training, a clear mission, clearance-eligible work, and relocation that's handled for you. This model mirrors how you already operate, and we actively want you in this pipeline.
Your work on client assignment:
- Develop and improve applications using your client's languages, frameworks, and tools
- Produce clean, efficient, well-organized code that meets professional standards
- Troubleshoot and resolve defects, and provide technical support
- Take part in code reviews, both giving and receiving constructive feedback
- Work with stakeholders to turn business requirements into technical specifications
- Help test and deploy to production, and keep technical documentation up to date
- Stay current on industry tools and techniques through continued training
What you get with SkillStorm:
- A competitive salary from day one; this is a paid role, not training you pay for
- Enterprise-level technology training and certifications
- Assignments with Fortune 100 companies and government agencies
- Health, vision, dental, and life insurance, plus a 401(k)
- Ongoing mentorship and support through training and placement
