Scrum Master (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking a Scrum Master for our client in Charlotte, NC. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Job Description:

  • This role is responsible for optimizing the flow of work and the value delivered by one or more scrum teams or Agile Release Train (ART) and is focused on serving the needs of the team(s) to drive performance and growth. Key responsibilities include coordinating and facilitating the scrum and/or ART ceremonies, managing dependencies across teams, and providing visibility into the health of delivery and the overall program increment. This role ensures impediments are resolved quickly and protects the teams from outside disruptions to delivery. In addition, they promote and coach the Agile mindset and principles, empowering individual teams to become self-managing and fulfill their cross-functional potential.
  • Guide and coach one or more teams on Scrum practices and develop their understanding of Agile principles. This may include guiding/coaching the teams on the Agile Release Train on Scrum practices, and develop their understanding of Agile principles
  • Help define norms/agreements for teams and enforce the agreements
  • Coordinate and facilitate ART ceremonies (for example, Backlog Refinement, Program Increment (PI) Planning, ART Sync or PO Sync, Scrum of Scrums), System Demos, and Retrospective
  • In collaboration with the Product Manager(s), ensure the program has a healthy product/program backlog
  • Facilitate dependency management/risk management/impediment removal for the ART
  • Promote/facilitate communication and collaboration within the ART to support value delivery and PI commitments
  • Responsible for providing status updates and reporting pertaining to ART plans/delivery/timelines/impediments to stakeholders and leadership
  • Ensure Enterprise Change Management and other policy requirements for technology solutions are met
  • Measure team/ART delivery, maturity, and performance and review the metrics with the ART to identify improvement opportunities
  • Capture data to help determine/track product funding and resource acquisition needs

Desired Skills:

  • Client experience highly preferred
  • SSM highly preferred

Required Skills:

  • Servant Leadership, detail oriented, capable of working in a strategic environment and managing to deadlines, drives for results.
  • JIRA/Confluence proficiency is required
  • 3-5 years on agile teams with at least 2 years as scrum master
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Able to deliver on time, keep team velocity up and manage team satisfaction
  • Strong business partnering skills with individuals across the organization in a matrixed environment
  • Proficient computer/software skills – MS Office products and collaboration tools (WebEx/Skype, Invision, etc.)
