SkillStorm is seeking a Scrum Master for our client in Charlotte, NC. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Job Description:

  • The Agile Scrum Master is responsible for end-to-end management and delivery of a material change for a project of high complexity across multiple departments within a single business unit.
  • The Scrum Master facilitates the Agile methodology and activities, manages, leads and directs the work efforts of resources that are functionally aligned as part of the project team.
  • The Scrum Master is responsible for the end-to-end integration of various work streams in order to deliver the intended project solution, the position specific responsibilities include:
  • Manage Project Scope
  • Leads the daily SCRUM meetings of the Agile project team and partners with the product owner to lead the team
  • Removes impediments to the ability of the team to deliver and is keenly focused on the activities and progress of the Agile project team
  • Timeline and Budget/Expenses; Obtain and align resources to key project roles; establish clearly defined responsibilities and accountabilities
  • Oversight/Manage/Lead project execution, integration and implementation
  • Risk Management and Mitigation Planning
  • Readiness/Change Adoption/Stakeholder Management
  • Quality Assurance, ensure that all applicable change requirements are satisfied, Acts as the primary point of contact and integration for the project

Position Summary:

  • Servant leader who is responsible for optimizing the flow of stories and the value delivered by multiple Kanban and/or teams. Key responsibilities include coordinating and facilitating Scrum ceremonies, managing dependencies for the team, providing visibility into team delivery plans and progress, enabling continuous improvement within the team. This role ensures the impediments are resolved quickly, the team follows their agreed-to processes, and that there is a good relationship between the Product Owner and the development team. They act as an Agile Coach, promoting and coaching the Agile mindset and principles, empowering the team to become self-managing and fulfill their cross-functional potential.

Required Skills:

  • At least 5 years of experience as a Scrum Master and/or Kanban Lead with achieving results in leading Agile teams to be high-performing and mature in Agile practices.
  • Experience working in a Scaled Agile environment, preferably with organizations that have leverage the Scaled Agile Framework and hands-on experience in going through Program Increment Planning.
  • Guides and coaches one or more teams on Kanban practices and develops their understanding of Agile principles.
  • Facilitates Kanban ceremonies – maintaining Kanban board and educating the teams on prioritization, planning and execution
  • Facilitates Scrum ceremonies i.e. Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Demos/Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives.
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills with the ability to connect with business and technology resources of different levels of responsibility.
  • Positive attitude with the proven ability to coach resources in Agile practices and successfully navigate overcoming challenges within organizational constraints.
  • Experience in helping support delivery of application technology enhancements and the associated software delivery lifecycle.
  • Needs to partner with Delivery Leads, Product Owners and Solution Leaders for successful delivery of efforts

Desired Skills:

  • Previous experience within the Financial Services industry.
  • Must have experience using JIRA 
  • Scrum Master/Kanban Certification
