SkillStorm is seeking a Scrum Master for our client in Jersey City, NJ. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Job Description:

  • The Scrum Master role within Climate Risk program will partner closely with business, technology and program/project teams to ensure they coordinate and facilitate planning and executing on respective activities for 2021 technology release implementation. As part of this role incumbent will join a rapidly growing portfolio of work for new Climate Risk program and manage multiple Agile scrum teams, leverage their understanding of Agile SDM framework, MRA2 / Enterprise Change Management processes and tools, and ensure keen eye on driving team activities to close out requirements ahead of dude dates and release commitments, while running respective scrum routines, project/program, and management reporting to partner with business partners.

Required Skills:

  • 6-8+yrs Project Management / Scrum Master Experience - Scrum Master Certification is needed Must have strong experience with Agile, Jira.
  • Responsible for leading the routines of multiple Agile scrum teams and applying Scrum to achieve business value.
  • Facilitate Scrum routines and corresponding with management as needed.
  • Work with the Agile team to remove impediments.
  • Managing the Agile Tool for tracking work (JIRA or Rally).
  • Manage governance routines.
  • Integrate with project, technology and business partners to manage the projects and be proactive in gathering status updates from partners, while minimizing impact.
  • Execute on Enterprise Change Management requirements.
  • Facilitate communication, influence and negotiate both vertically and horizontally to obtain agreement between partners.
  • Ability to lead and influence team in adopting the Agile principles.
  • Ability to ensure the correct use of Scrum process.
  • Ability to foster strong collaboration among team members and help team solve problems.
  • Self-motivation, self-direction, organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities without sacrificing quality or timelines.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and facilitation skills.
  • High level of credibility with executives and business partners; demonstrated ability to influence, negotiate, and drive to results.
  • Able to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Acts as single point of contact for all things around the project.
  • Manages timelines and communicates project status.
  • Builds positive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Holds all accountable for their roles.
  • Uses the right questions to uncover the root cause of business challenges, identify opportunities, and make recommendations.
  • Participates in, documents and understands strategy, business goals/objectives and plans.
  • Documents and communicates status to milestones, plan and strategy. Able to create and manage a project plan and project scorecard independently and communicate status of deliverables to business partners at any given time
  • Escalates risks and issues even if team disagrees.
  • Serve as a liaison between the product owners and development team to ensure that all targets and requirements are met.
  • Facilitating productivity by removing impediments team will encounter, mediating through conflicts, helping team to make decisions and adhering to continuous improvement principles.
  • Coordinating across other agile teams for complex projects.
  • Leveraging data to measure & monitor progress (Burndown charts etc..)
  • Helping teams adhere to the Definition of Done.
  • Facilitate team's self-organization and growth.
  • Encourage discussion, conflict resolution, alternatives or different approaches.
  • Help mitigate distractions and increase the team's focus.
  • Review and confirm the appropriate resources and participants needed to achieve project goals are assigned.
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
  • Build, develop, and grow any partner relationships vital to the success of the project.
  • Understanding of Scaled Agile and Lean Practices.

Desired Skills:

  • High level understanding of banking Enterprise Change Standards is a plus.
  • IT experience.
  • Jira is highly preferred.
  • Domain Knowledge in GT&O.
  • Existing experience with the Bank of America Change Management Framework, ChangeScape, PPRT, SharePoint, JIRA and FileNet are desired but not required.
  • Ability to build relationships across the enterprise with Lines of Businesses, Technology, and Business where relevant.
  • Takes ownership of day-to-day issues and escalations and brings issues to resolution.
  • Experience in working in large global complex matrix organizations.
  • Facilitate communication and improve transparency, remove impediments the team will encounter.
  • Encourage discussion, conflict resolution, alternatives, or different approaches.
  • Help mitigate distractions and increase the team's focus.
