  • Release Train Engineer (RTE) is a servant leader and coach for the Agile Release Train (ART). Facilitate the ART events and processes and assist the teams in delivering value.
  • Manage and optimize the flow of work through the ART while fostering team accountability
  • Coach leaders, teams, Product Owners and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets
  • Communicate with stakeholders, escalate impediments, help manage risk, and drive relentless improvement.
  • Ensured that the team maintains focus on quality and continuous delivery of business value
  • Facilitated Scrum of Scrums, Product Owner Syncs and meet after if some team members needs to discuss additional issues
  • Responsible for facilitating the Scrum events and artifacts to maintain cadence and synchronization on the train and the enterprise
  • Coached the Scrum team to proactively identify impediments and facilitated team identifying solutions to remove impediments
  • Understands Agile values and principles, coached and guided teams, and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices
  • Guided and coached delivery teams to self-organize and achieve objectives, without assigning or dictating the work.
  • Provided support to the Product Owner and Development Team, and lead by example. Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution. Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised and resolved.
  • Work with Product Owners and Development Team to facilitate effective sprints/iterations by removing impediments and ensuring that stories are 'sprint ready'
  • Coached product owner on product backlog refinement and ensure that Product Backlog Items (PBIs) has hypotheses (goals), acceptance criteria clearly written to ensure comprehension by the development team.
  • Establish program level cadence and drive program level ceremonies ensuring the appropriate level of program governance to achieve commitments (e.g. PI Planning, PI Demo, Scrum of Scrums, release train retrospectives etc.)
  • Ensure coordination of program execution through defining cross-team dependencies ensuring a well-defined program schedule that meets organizational objectives
  • Summarize team objectives into Program PI Objectives and publish them for visibility and transparency
  • Establish and communicate the annual calendars for Iterations and Program Increments (PIs)
  • Facilitate PI Planning readiness by fostering a Continuous Exploration process which drives the synthesis of a Vision, a Roadmap, and Backlogs, and through Pre- and Post-PI Planning meetings
  • Facilitate the PI planning event
  • Committed to driving relentless improvement through Inspect and Adapt workshops, and assess the agility level of the ART and coach for ART growth
  • Help to foster Communities of Practice and the use of engineering and Built-In Quality practices
  • Facilitate PI Planning readiness by fostering a Continuous Exploration process which drives the synthesis of a Vision, a Roadmap, and Backlogs, and through Pre- and Post-PI Planning meetings
  • Lean Agile leaders are lifelong learners, the RTE must be aligned to the enterprise for organizational practices, Communities of Practice CoP.
  • Experienced in working with geographically distributed Teams
  • Adept at Agile Work Management tools such as JIRA

Qualifications (education and/or experience):

  • A minimum of Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Information Systems or related field or equivalent work experience required
  • 10+ years of experience leading Information Technology projects
  • 7+ years leading large scale transformation programs, involving business process and change,
  • 3+ years delivering large scale IT solutions leveraging Agile or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Experience with Java, Oracle, Spring, Hibernate, Web Services, Coherence, MuleSoft
  • Certified SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) or SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) Required
  • PMI-ACP, Certified Scrum Master (CSM) / SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) / SAFe Advanced Scrum Master (SASM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification preferred
