Release Manager (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking a Release Manager for our client in Charlotte. NC. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Job Description:

• End to End Forecasting Technology is looking for an experienced Release manager/Release engineer. This position will be responsible for planning, execution and validation of software releases using our internal bank change management tools. Applicant should be an excellent communicator and leader with the ability to quickly learn both the underlying technology components and use of our award winning financial performance forecasting software.
• Owns and manages our production release calendar (typically consisting of monthly software releases)
• Communicates the required artifacts (Design documents, QA results etc…) and timings (2wks prior, 5 days prior, etc…) those are needed project managemers, developers and QA to submit/approve a release.
• Documents the release plan and steps. Assigns ownership to tasks
• Develops an understanding of the solution and is able to independently (over time) verify the functionality of a software release prior to turnover to LOB partners for their validation.
• Becomes an expert on the enterprise documentation required for properly managing change/releases at bank of America
• Builds strong relationships with IT support services teams that are needed to perform release tasks.

Required Skills:

• Strong background in one or more of the following areas (Release Management, Quality Management, Project Management, Environments Management)
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Able to organize plans/timelines (primarily in Excel)
• Able to track and follow up on planned/past due/completed tasks
• Familiar with change management tools and systems (i.e. Remedy, ServiceNow, others)
• Familiar with agile work management tools and systems (i.e. JIRA, Rally, etc…)
• Must be able to take initiative and be a fast learner

Preferred/Optional Skills:

• Prior experience working at Client
• Strong experience with JIRA and Remedy
• Quality Assurance Experience
