SkillStorm is seeking a QA Engineer for our client in Pennington, NJ. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Job Description:

  • Client’s Retail Fixed Income eTrading Platform is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join our Agile team and test our Fixed Income trading platforms. We perform functional software testing for securities like US Agencies ,Treasuries, Mortgages and Corporate, CD bonds that are executed on several of our cutting edge Electronic Trading platforms. We operate in an Agile Development environment and are looking for a self-motivated software tester with a passion for quality, testing software and test automation.

Required Skills:

  • 7+ years of proven software testing experience
  • Strong experience within the Agile Methodology.
  • Strong background in functional testing with the ability to design and develop comprehensive test strategy and test cases for clearing and settlement of fixed income trade
  • Quick learner and self-starter who requires minimal supervision to excel in a dynamic environment
  • Deep understanding of the software development and QA life cycle processes (including test planning, test case design, execution, defect tracking and reporting)
  • Strong knowledge of tools such as qTest or HP ALM/Quality Center and JIRA
  • 5+ years of experience working in UNIX/Linux and SQL/Oracle environments.
  • Medium level of knowledge around SQL coding skills, including an understanding of DDL/DML and Indexes
  • Ability to write SQL queries using joins
  • Understanding of RDBMS systems
  • Understanding of Fixed Income markets Trading
  • Understanding of FICC products and Trade life cycle
  • Experience in Automation testing (Selenium) is a Big Plus

Responsibilities:

  • Comfortable with giving demos to multiple teams to showcase the progress of the work done
  • Works independently, with limited direction, and is evaluated through end results.
  • Interacts efficiently with internal contacts/teams to drive through the solution and solve problems
  • Prior experience driving issue resolutions with development Excellent written and verbal communication skills interact across all levels from junior members to senior management
  • Conducts all necessary testing for applications and technology, to ensure that business, technical, functional requirements are being met throughout the SDLC
  • Support BAU Regression and regression maintenance work which is performed for every release
  • Support during production deployment of applications and perform “validation testing” during the off-hours maintenance windows
