Python / SQL Developer (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking a Python / SQL Developer for our client in Jersey City, NJ. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Job Description:

  • Understand the front to back flow of the application and be a major contributor to the design & development of business requirements
  • Have regular routines with stakeholders & epic owners to finalize and execute the milestones across various epics.
  • Ability to work in fast development environment and quickly adapt to the changes.
  • Build the functional expertise that is required for seamless delivery
  • Understand stakeholder needs to help envision and create a solution to solve a problem.
  • Ensure changes to the application are compliant with relevant federal/ state and bank standards and policies.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts to create, analyze, and improve processes and solutions.
  • Resource is expected to work with the program sponsors/ operations/ trading reps as well as business analysts, project managers and data stewards from other streams for end to end delivery.
  • Mentor and help others in the team to resolve their roadblocks.
  • Design and Programming experience in Python or other object-oriented language (Python preferred)
  • SQL on any RDBMS

Plus Working Experience In Any Of The Following:

  • object databases
  • messaging systems
  • parallel/ grid compute options
  • scheduling system
  • Experience in Agile software development
  • Preferred to have Banking and Financial Domain experience, understanding of enterprise data architectures in the financial industry with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of collateral portfolio assignment and ISDA/ local law derivative contracts is a plus.
