Python Developer / Technical Analyst (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking a Python Developer / Technical Analyst for our client in Jersey City, NJ. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Job Description:

  • Global Technology and Operations division of Client seeks a Technical Analyst to assist in the monitoring, developing and supporting of a Regulatory Transaction Reporting application across multiple jurisdictions and asset classes for OTC Derivatives and FX products. Experience in Dodd Frank regulatory transaction reporting for CFTC, EMIR, or MiFID II is a plus.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Create /update Data-Lineage for Transaction Reporting for various jurisdictions such as CFTC, SEC, EMIR and Canada etc
  • Dig into the python code to understand logic /determination of reportable attributes
  • Identify the gaps in software system from regulatory perspective and raise requirements to product owners
  • Perform detailed analysis and propose solutions
  • Write Python / SQL scripts to pull impacted population to do Analysis
  • Produce documents including design documents, and class diagrams
  • Perform testing with technical peers and functional end users to ensure successful launch of development projects
  • Out of hours support when needed

Essential Skills:

  • 3+ years python programming language
  • 3+ years of experience as IT Business Analyst
  • Experience in Regulatory Transaction Reporting for CFTC/EMIR/MIFID jurisdictions AND should have good working experience with OTC derivative products
  • Great analytical skills. Ability to deep dive into complex details and resolve issues
  • Excellent written & oral communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize, adjust, and push for completion of multiple tasks in a fast paced organization.
  • Ability to problem solve, apply reason, take initiative, use judgment, and perform multiple concurrent tasks
  • Strong understanding of regulatory rules and applications
  • The candidate should be a self-starter who enjoys programming, can work as part of a global team and who has successfully delivered significant enterprise-scale projects to end-users previously
