Python Developer (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking a Python Developer for our client in Houston, TX. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Job Description:

• There is an opportunity for a programmer to join the Development and Technology Group within the Global Markets Technology organization. The development position requires someone with strong technical skills, ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks, and be able to deliver a first-class solution. This team works closely with various groups across Global Markets to provide automation tooling, management reporting, and other horizontal solutions. Being able to automate processes, find efficiencies and build tools are essential in order to strive in this fast paced, changing environment. Programming Skills
• Understanding of Object Orientated programming languages
• Python proficiency is required
• Web programming experience in JavaScript, React library, and related technologies is a plus

Primary Skill:

• Agile tools (Bitbucket)
• Core Java

Required Skills:

• Understanding/Knowledge of large scale application infrastructure technologies including databases, middleware, batch schedulers, grids, etc 
• Creation of process automation experience is a plus
• Ability to analyze and solve technical problems quickly and effectively
• Understanding of software development lifecycle
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and CI tooling
• Self-motivated, enthusiastic and must be a team player
• Ability to work independently on projects and manage concurrent tasks
• Strong communication skills, with a global team – both written and oral

Responsibilities:

• Building of applications, tools, and reports in Python
• Generation of unit tests to ensure future reliability of code
• Active participation in team development processes & ceremonies

Desired Skills:
