Python Developer (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking a Python Developer for our client in Chicago, IL. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Job Description:

  • Candidates must be highly motivated with a track record of success in a global financial environment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in application development and quality assurance testing. The candidate will have exceptional analysis and troubleshooting skills focusing on environment availability, production stability, and the ability to learn and adapt quickly.
  • Preference will be given to those who possess development experience in Python.

Essential Skill Requirements:

  • Experience in Quality Assurance Testing and Batch processing. 
  • Working in a Global Team environment and managing the workload for the global team. 
  • Candidate must be a strong team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills in a high-pressure environment. 
  • Solid knowledge of contemporary development processes, build environments, and testing tools.
  • Proven record with driving continuous improvements in processes and tooling
  • Experience in 3rd line production support.
  • Knowledge or experience of agile development (e.g. XP, SCRUM, Kanban) and continuous integration
  • Comfortable in communicating with technology and business users
  • Must possess a solid degree in Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, Mathematics or relevant analytical experience.

  • Experience working in a front office trading platform development team.
  • Experience working with global development teams
  • Experience with Python data analysis packages.
  • Experience with Python performance tuning.
  • Exceptional development knowledge in Python on Linux/UNIX.

  • Strong understanding of Messaging Middleware concepts, usage and application.
