Project Manager II (Closed)
Our customer is seeking a Project Manager II.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the initiation, planning, execution, control, handover/conclusion phases of Systems
- Integration/Service Layer customer projects, in accordance with contractual time, cost and quality requirements
- Liaise with/work cooperatively with all project stakeholders, KAM managers, Services & Solutions Sales and Operations organizations, PDU and BU organizations, in order to deliver timely/quality SI services & solutions to customers Outcomes
- Ensure the effective management of SI/SL projects in accordance with designated time, cost, scope and quality objectives and the achievement of optimal project solutions, by:
- Planning, estimating, coordinating and controlling project solution delivery/implementation
- Scheduling and management of progress and resources, and delegation of tasks
- Establishing appropriate project quality standards in consultation with customers, and implementing appropriate quality management practices/processes/systems to ensure customer satisfaction
- Establishing effective, open communication channels between project participants and all key stakeholders
- Close monitoring and proactive management of SI project budgets
- Facilitating the production of project documentation and reporting for Project Steering Committees/Boards and project team members
- Establishing clear project baselines, clearly defined Scope Of Work & Statement Of Compliance
- Establishing strict Change Control mechanisms and management of all project changes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in a science, business or telecommunications discipline, or a minimum of eight years of progressive experience in a related field
- Experience (4-6 years) of technical Project Management within the Telecom Industry
- Experience in managing Telecom Infrastructure and Systems Integration projects in a commercial environment
- Solid end-to-end SI project management experience, from pre-sales to delivery, including SI requirement analysis, scoping, resourcing, budgeting, scheduling, quality control and customer management
- Ability to communicate very effectively with customers, project stakeholders and 3PP vendors, utilizing a high level of written and oral presentation skills
- Ability to plan, program and coordinate work, manage risk and make informed decisions regarding project delivery in an environment characterized by high volumes of work and competing deadlines
- Ability to integrate technical, environmental and human aspects of projects, and balance conflicting requirements
- Ability to consult, liaise with and coordinate project stakeholders, and negotiate and resolve conflict with tact and diplomacy
- Ability to work as a member of a team and contribute positively to a spirit of team cooperation
- Skills in computer-based project, resource and other information management systems and in the effective use of project management tools
- Knowledge of modern project management techniques, including performance assessment, project evaluation and review techniques, procurement options, value analysis, and quality assurance
- Experience in establishing project controls to ensure controlled progress, including change management, reporting, tolerances and governance structures
- Knowledge of Project Management and Quality Management concepts and principles
- Sound knowledge of telecommunication technologies and trends
- Knowledge of project management methodology
- Current PMP certification or is actively pursuing professional project management certification (PMP)
- Knowledge of MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, MS Project, PROPS-C, Core 3, Einstein/SRM, SAP, MORE tool
- Very good technical background
- Solid understanding of a number of critical telecom platforms & Intelligent Network applications, Service Layer offerings
- i.e. Pre-Paid, VoIP, MMS, MoIP, SMS, VPN, IMS, WAP, Parlay, Video Streaming, Mobile Positioning, Content Management, Hosted Solutions
Note: 50-100% travel may be required. Many SI/SL projects require significant presence in Plano to work with delivery organizations, but some SI Prime Integration roles may require prolonged market presence at customer locations.
