Project Manager (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking a Project Manager for our client in Charlotte, NC. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Job Description:

  • This is a project manager role within the Core Technology Infrastructure (CTI) supporting Diversity & Inclusion efforts across Global Technology. Responsible for driving the planning, coordination and follow up associated with programs and organizations in which we have executive sponsors. The individual will coordinate the events, with particular focus on the follow up in order to create a talent pipeline of resources and the next steps from the engagements/events.
  • The project manager will partner closely with the D&I program managers, Communications/Marketing, Human Resources, Talent and Talent Acquisition partners. The Project Manager should be a seasoned project manager versed in strategic program and project management practices and principles.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional project manager experience, including significant experience facilitating communications and event coordination.
  • The role is highly collaborative and requires strong written and verbal communication, facilitation, and team building skills in a professional environment.
  • Hosting virtual meetings via Cisco WebEx and MS Skype and documentation skills using a variety of tools (e.g., MS Office).

Desired Skills:

  • Communication – Speaks clearly, concisely, and knows the audience.
  • Scheduling – Understands dependencies and the difference between critical path deliverables and those that are not. Understands the impacts of schedule delays on financials, risk, and strategy and can balance the need for escalation with non-impacting schedule misses, and escalate appropriately when necessary or manage it independently when escalation is not needed.
  • Critical Thinking – Has the ability to analyze complex data from multiple sources and objectively make reasoned judgment.
  • Task Management – Understands the work that needs to get done, the resources completing the work, and aligns tasks to the right people, even if the right person occasionally isn’t in that particular role
  • Proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects at various stages of the project life cycle
  • Experience managing large, finance-impacting program implementations
  • Experience managing across varied finance, business, and IT stakeholder groups and maintaining key relationships
  • Ability to manage in a high volume, fast paced changing environment with good time management skills and the ability to manage teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing, communication, and organizational skills and the ability to deliver across various levels of an organization
  • Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to operate independently and remain focused through change or uncertainty.
  • Budgeting, cost control, and risk management experience 
  • 10 + years. Responsible for end-to-end management and delivery of a material change for a project of high complexity across multiple departments across multiple business units. Manages, leads and directs the work efforts of resources that may be functionally aligned as part of the project and/or organizationally aligned as direct reports. Responsible for the end-to-end integration of various work streams in order to deliver the intended project solution. Responsibilities include: Manage Project Scope, Timeline and Budget/Expenses; obtain and align resources to key project roles; establish clearly defined responsibilities and accountabilities; oversight/Manage/Lead project execution, integration and implementation; Risk Management and Mitigation Planning; Readiness / Change Adoption/Stakeholder Management; Quality Assurance, ensure that all applicable change requirements are satisfied; Acts as the primary point of contact and integration for the project; Acts as a Programme Manager if required on an interim basis; Ability to represent / deputise senior project stakeholders where required
