SkillStorm is seeking a Project Manager for our client in Charlotte, NC OR Richmond, VA. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Job Description:

  • This position is a Project Manager of a highly strategic book of work in the CTI Workforce Modernization Program. Job requires experience in basic project management skills (e.g., task planning, coordination, issues management). In addition to the aforementioned skills, the candidate should have subject matter expertise and experience in Scrum and Agile methodologies. The Project Manager will be a seasoned project manager versed in strategic program and project management practices and principles. The Project Manager provides direction and oversight to the project team in executing on the project's mission in achieving the target state CTI operating model which is the bridge between the strategy and day-to-day operations that guides the team, provides the context, and enables the behaviors that will realize the CTI strategy. This individual will lead a single complex project and potentially manage another program related project.
  • Responsibilities include all areas of project management including project scope, schedule, costs, resource utilization, deliverable quality and risk/issue resolution. He or she will serve as the project lead to business partners, and other CTI team associates, and will communicate scope, progress, and issue risks to stakeholders at various levels. He or she will also contribute to the project's communications plan. The Project Manager will be responsible for end-to-end management and delivery of a material change for a project of high complexity across multiple departments within a single business unit. Manages, leads and directs the work efforts of resources that may be functionally aligned as part of the project and/or organizationally aligned as direct reports. Responsible for the end-to-end integration of various workstreams in order to deliver the intended project solution. Responsibilities include: manage project scope, schedule / timeline; obtain and align resources to key project roles; establish clearly defined responsibilities and accountabilities; oversight/manage/lead project execution, integration and implementation; risk management and mitigation planning; readiness/change adoption/stakeholder management; quality assurance, ensure that all applicable change requirements are satisfied; and acts as the primary point of contact and integration for the project. Requires previous experience in managing operating model related projects.

Required Skills:

  • The role is highly collaborative and requires strong written and verbal communication, facilitation, and team building skills in a professional environment.
  • Hosting virtual meetings via Cisco WebEx and MS Skype and documentation skills using a variety of tools (e.g., MS Office).
  • Experience with SDLC (i.e., Agile Methodologies/Waterfall) and Project Management Framework.
  • Advanced skills in fully managing and executing against standard program and security policies, including Risk and Issue Management, Governance, Resource Management, Dependency Management, etc.
  • Agility when dealing with change.
  • Drive learning, communications and stakeholder engagement.
  • 5+ years of working knowledge and Project Management experience.
  • Experience working in application analysis/development environments.
  • The ideal candidate also demonstrates the following attributes: leadership – courage to make hard decisions, holding people accountable, and recognizing / embracing "the grey." Not everything will always be black and white nor linear and this individual cannot be paralyzed by that; communication – being articulate, speaking clearly and concisely, and ability to "read the room."
