Program Manager (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking a Program Manager for our client in Charlotte, NC OR Richardson, TX OR Richmond, VA. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Job Description:

  • Responsible to support the Application Lifecycle (Not Permitted Technology -NPT) portfolio of projects for Employee Experience Technology applications.
  • This resource will also assist in other portfolios/projects as needed.

Position Summary:

  • The role requires a results-driven individual to provide application lifecycle oversight of software for the Employee Experience Technology suite of applications/software.
  • The Technology Program Manager leads the team of technologists through the project lifecycle of Identification, Design, Build and Deliver software, infrastructure and/or middleware components on an agreed upon timeline.
  • The Technology Program Manager provides oversight of task delivery for various components of software solutions and/or infrastructure service solutions delivery including network connectivity, midrange server build, virtual server build, storage, performance/capacity planning and monitoring of infrastructure health.
  • The Technology Program Manager will coordinate with key delivery teams responsible for Test Environment Management, Production Release Management, Performance Testing and Capacity Management plus other teams to deliver Pre-Prod and Production software and/or infrastructure in the environments.
  • Proactively communicate and support technology as it becomes declining or not permitted to ensure core technology versions are in use.

Required Skills:

  • 8+ years’ experience in project management
  • 5+ years' experience in infrastructure, software engineering and/or development
  • Must have a wide breadth of experience with software / infrastructure, engineering, development knowledge
  • Must have experience in requirement gathering, analysis by working closely with stakeholder teams, users etc.
  • Experience with Project estimation to provide road map on overall work completion
  • Experience with Resource management to allocate tasks and build traceability to track progress
  • Experience with Project progress reporting to management
  • Must exhibit technical leadership skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment is critical
  • Key skills include consulting skills and conflict resolution, ability to apply both broad technical expertise and business knowledge to work across organizational structures to meet customer needs, and strong communications/presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, Project plan creation and management
  • Enjoys working with multiple engineering teams to deliver software and/or infrastructure/hardware solutions for our software technology partners

  • Ability to take a bigger view of NPT, to look for correlations of products, and bring a holistic view to NPT. For example recognizing when the remediation of certain key components will have extended impact since it will cover other product remediation.
  • Familiarity with workstation and server environments and products. Recognizing similarities and differences.
  • Ability to look for opportunities to drive out NPT.
  • Strong analytical skills use of Excel and pivots.
