Production Support (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking a Production Support for our client in Plano, TX. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Job Description:

• Resource is required to be on the assignment for the required hours as specified in the job description. Forty hours per week is the expectation in the absence of specified hours. Attendance and punctuality are essential components of the position; therefore, unexcused absences and tardiness could result in dismissal. 10 + years. Provides support after the solution goes live. If resources provide support from development through production, role should be chosen based on where the majority of their time is spent. Production support from this role will typically fall into the third level of support: minor enhancements, batch optimization, patches, etc. Will also have extensive experience of supporting highly specialised technologies and / or business units
• 3-5 years of experience. 
• Good knowledge of Unix/Linux –  cd/tail/ls/vi/ssh/telnet etc
• Network design familiarity and exposure with Routers/dns/vip/firewall/ports
• Experience with web-application servers and webservers - IHS, TOMCAT, WebSphere, JBOSS
• Understanding/experience with web application communication protocols - SOAP, HTTP, XML
• Good DB experience – Comfortable using/writing SQL queries
• Understanding of web application flow
• How to configure/use TOAD or similar product for connecting to DB
• Familiarity with IBM’s MQ messaging product and use of AppWatch product
• Use of Software control tools, build management tools and code deployment tools -  Perforce, Subversion, Maven, ant, uDeploy
• Ability to troubleshoot and analyze
• Scripting or coding skills a plus - Shell

Desired Skills:

• Software Delivery using an automated toolset
• Working knowledge of UNIX/Linux Operating System and Infrastructure (Minimum 2 years of experience)
• Exposure and/or hands-on knowledge of Windows PowerShell, UNIX Shell, Perl, Python, and similar scripting language (Minimum 2 years of experience)
• Continuous Integration & Deployment knowledge and hands on skill involving any, XLR or all of  Jenkins, Maven/Ant, JFrog Artifactory, TFS/BitBucket, and similar CI/CD technologies
• Agile Software Delivery
