Product Manager (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking a Product Manager for our client in Charlotte, NC or Richardson, TX. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Position Summary:

  • Responsible for accurate & timely delivery of project artifacts based on TI DMAIC workflow. Resource works closely with Technology Project Manager & Engagement Manager in order to provide a fully documented infrastructure technology solution based on standard product offerings. As a subject matter expert (SME), resource is responsible for documenting & understanding current environment for each design request. Resource also interfaces with Midrange Standards & Infrastructure Engineering team to understand current technology trends and to review Bank technology standards. These standards form the basis of all design offerings that are presented to Line of Business as part of the overall design deliverable.
  • Maintaining a consistent focus throughout design project on the customer and business goals of the project.
  • Work with the client to understanding Business Requirements by reviewing the Business Requirements Document
  • Translate Business Requirements into Technical Requirements
  • Determining potential hosting environments
  • Identify appropriate SMEs for Technical Requirements & Design discussions
  • Translate Technical Requirements into a Low Level Design (LLD) solution using IT Service Management (ITSM) Framework’s Service Request (SR) Design Console & Genesis toolset.
  • Partner with client & several Technology Infrastructure (TI) Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to product design solution that meets Business Requirements
  • Product High Level Designs (HLDs) which illustrates infrastructure and /or software interactions.
  • Understanding BAC Reference Architecture (DRA/PDA) standards as well as a number of Standard & Frameworks bank has to offer to produce a standard & supported solution. This ensures standardization across Design & Build
  • Identify any non-standard product & address with appropriate parties for resolution
  • Understand & adhere to governance mandates of zero growth, virtualization first.
  • Work closely with Chief Engineer throughout project
  • Work with CE & Capacity Planner to agree to a hosting target location & solution around sizing of CPU, Memory & Storage
  • Identify any Issues, Risks, Assumptions, Key Decisions that would impact Technical Design or LLD
  • LLD requirements include documenting CPU, Memory, Disk requirements (type; NAS, SAN, size & ownership) backup requirements; schedules, retentions & file systems, Application (Database, Middleware, Presentation) requirements, hosting location, capturing Active Directory Organizational Units, capturing maintenance & outage windows and identify additional software that must be installed on targeted platforms.
  • Work closely with the Technology Project Manager to communicate status, updates and escalate to resolve issues as needed
  • Work with Supply Chain Management to obtain quotes for hardware where appropriate
  • Meet with appropriate SMEs to review and obtain signoff for Cost and Design solutions

Required Skills:

  • Methodologies: ITSM, BAC Standards and Frameworks and Project Management methodologies, Agile, Scrum ,6 Sigma DMAIC, ITIL.

Soft Skills Requirements:

  • Must be able to articulate well, be confident and definitive, lead design calls, partner with other Subject Matter Experts, work individually and as a team member, carry out research with various technologies and work well/fast under pressure

Desired Skills:

  • Looking for candidate to hit the ground running, has minimum 12 years’ experience in IT and project and product management. This candidate will drive innovation on why we do make architectural decisions, and how TI can improve on delivery.
  • A people player and highly organized skillset of looking beyond obvious and understanding multiple pages of documents to explain client concise information that is just in time as well as accurate.
  • Great written, verbal and architectural skills to drive technology invocation.
  • The candidate will have worked on high pressure, volume, frequency, storage environments and consistently delivered architectural and end to end support for Fortune 500 firms over the last decade.

Preferred/Desired Skills:

  • MS Office, Visio, Adobe, Networking Concepts, Server OS and Application; database, middleware, presentation concepts and security concepts related to BAC 
  • Hardware and Platform administration and architecture (Sun, HP, IBM)
