Performance Lead (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking a Performance Lead for our client in Charlotte, North Carolina OR Richardson, Texas OR Jersey City, New Jersey. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Position Summary:

  • Define performance best practices o Strong understanding of performance best practices including JVM settings
  • Network Variability impact on Performance of distributed systems
  • Ability to lead performance optimization efforts with a strong command of complex performance issues and the ability to direct component owners (network, database, appdev, server OS/WAS, storage, etc.)
  • Provide guidance to testers on performance plan creation, test script creation and execution for complex issues
  • Participate in performance test requirements reviews for large scale critical efforts
  • Leverage profiling tools (i.e. dynaTrace & AppDynamics) to analyze and define performance characteristics of an application, recommend enhancements, and trouble shoot bottlenecks.
  • Performance trouble shooting (heap dump & thread dump analysis)
  • Application and infrastructure scaling analysis and recommendations o J2EE and/or .Net Diagnostic Skills
  • Performance results preparation and presentation for large efforts

Required Skills:

  • Strong tools experience required – Microsoft Excel, Project, Visio and SharePoint
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work activities to meet deadlines and develop project management reporting.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and strong task management skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong attention to detail
  • Strong negotiation and mediation skills as well as an ability to be diplomatic in dealings with a variety of areas across the company.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and independently.
  • Able to maintain a high degree of customer / client / sponsor satisfaction while also maintaining necessary project controls.
  • Proficient in the following tools; § dynaTrace § AppDynamics § LoadRunner/Performance Center § Splunk

Desired Skills:

  • Previous Development Experience Desired
  • The candidate(s) must possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills; and be able to demonstrate those skills to a varying level of internal & external resources, to include senior leadership. The candidate should be self-motivated and be able to detect a major concern that should be escalated to management for resolution. Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Ability to work or lead a technical team from diversified geography and culture to complete strategic planning, mission-critical design and development work.
  • Strong results-oriented awareness, with an optimistic and enterprising attitude.
  • Experience in diagnosing complex technical issues. o JMeter experience
