SkillStorm is seeking a Pega Developer for our client in Charlotte, NC. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Job Description:

• Develops, Analyze, enhances, debugs, supports, maintains and tests software applications that support business units or supporting functions. These application program solutions may involve diverse development platforms, software, hardware, technologies and tools. May provide technical direction and system architecture for individual initiatives. Serves as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource. Will not have direct reports but may lead projects and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations. May have responsibility for a project and project budget. May collaborate with external programmers to coordinate delivery of software application. Routine accountability is for technical knowledge and capabilities. Works under minimal supervision, with general guidance from more seasoned consultants. Has strong communication and presentation skills. Author Technical Documentation, familiarity with SDLC process, Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results.

Key Job Functions:

• Participates in the design, development and implementation of complex applications, often using new technologies and technical solutions.
• Takes direction from the Lead/LSA for tasks, priorities, design, and best practices. Works under minimal supervision
• Able to assist Lead/LSA with design, external system integration and task estimates.
• Ability to translate business requirements into functional technical requirements.
• Able to adhere to Pega development guard rails and best practices
• Consistently demonstrates knowledge of industry standard project delivery frameworks including Agile, Waterfall and Scrum
• Effectively troubleshoot technical issues as they arise during the project lifecycle
• Demonstrate technical knowledge by mentoring junior team members on on-going basis
• Able to effectively collaborate and communicate with developers located in various time zones on daily basis.
• Perform regular peer code reviews as needed.
• Demonstrates strong team work, communication and presentation skills to stakeholders.

Required Skills:

• PEGA CSSA certified or PEGA CLSA certified (7.x or 8.x) Preferably version 8.x
• 4-9+ years of total experience in IT - hands on delivery of large enterprise complex solutions
• 3-5+ years of experience in building and implementing model-driven, enterprise-level business solutions using Pega BPM tools.
• Experienced in developing and managing Workflows, User Interfaces, Activities and Decision Rules
• Experienced in various types of rules like Correspondence rules, Integration rules and Validation Rules
• Experienced in using debugging tools such as Clipboard and Tracer.
• Experienced in creating and optimizing Pega Business reports.
• Web Services development and consumption for both SOAP & RESTFUL Services.
• Exposure to a variety of technologies, including, but not limited to J2EE (JSP, Servlets, EJB, Java), Oracle, SQL Server, XML/XML Parsing.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Object-Oriented techniques and principles.

Desired Skills:

• Experienced in integration with Database, Web Services, MQ and Middleware technologies.
• Experience using the Natural Language Processing(NLP) & Optical Character Recognition(OCR) Pega 8.x
• Experienced in working in Scaled Agile environment
• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
