Network / System Engineer V (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking a Network Engineer for our Client in Charlotte, North Carolina, OR Jacksonville, Florida, OR Richardson, Texas. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Description:

• This contractor role is essential to engineering and implementation of EDR product within Horizon and Citrix Platforms which represents critical part of the EDR program. This critical resource will provide low-level design, implementation, integration and sustained engineering support for EDR component implemented on the Horizon and Citrix platforms. They will also be responsible for the automation, testing and documentation of current and new releases of the product. They will serve as operations liaison as well as resident SME on the EDR product and its integration with the Horizon and Citrix platforms as well as transferring the pertinent knowledge to the rest of the engineering team.
• Experience operating, maintaining, optimizing, and expanding the virtual infrastructure to include virtual servers and virtual desktops using VMware technology
• Designing, Installing, configuring and maintaining a scalable and high availability virtual environment utilizing VMware Horizon View 7.x with AppVols, User Environment Manager, and ThinApp
• Thorough understanding of platform performance analysis, telemetry, and performance related troubleshooting

Required Skills:

• Undergraduate degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of training and experience
• 8+ years of experience working in virtualization and EUC related fields as an engineer or architect
• Management and support skills in a large corporate enterprise consisting of 100,000+ endpoints
• Experience with the architecture/design of a VMware Horizon and Citrix environment with 40,000 concurrent users
• Experience operating, maintaining, optimizing, and expanding the virtual infrastructure to include virtual servers and virtual desktops using VMware technology.
• Designing, Installing, configuring and maintaining a scalable and high availability virtual environment utilizing VMware Horizon View 7.x with AppVols, User Environment Manager, and ThinApp
• Designing, Installing, configuring and maintaining a scalable and high availability virtual environment utilizing Citrix XenDesktop and XenApp 7.x
• Thorough understanding of platform performance analysis, telemetry, and performance related troubleshooting
• Strong experience implementing best practices in an end user environment
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work assignments
• Understanding of VMware NSX in the desktop environment
• Understanding of VMware vROPS/V4H in the desktop environment
• Understand how to use PowerCLI to manage virtual machines and virtual infrastructure
• Ability to leverage Powershell as a conduit for automation and issue analysis

Desired Skills:

• Excellent Scripting knowledge on PowerShell, WMI, and/or Java script
• Knowledge of Service Now integrations with vRA/vRO through REST API
• Experience in developing solutions using agile methodology
• Enthusiastic to learn new technologies and tools
