Network / System Engineer IV (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking an L3 Prod. Support / Engineer for our client in Charlotte, North Carolina. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Job Description and Essential Functions:

• Extensive expertise in Vmware Horizon infrastructure support. Health Checks, maintenance, change control implementations. Needs to be very detailed oriented and have ability to work well within high pressure situations at a very rapid pace. Need out of box thinking and ability to work well on own. Needs to work well across geographic boundaries.
• Responsible for providing support for the HVD & RemotePC Service 24x7x365 (rotational on-call for after hours and weekends).  Must be very experienced & knowledgeable of Windows OS hosted virtual desktop processes using VMware Horizon and Citrix technologies, hosted on VMware vCenter. Must be able to work on issues reported on end user personal/vendor (BYO) devices. Understanding of WiFi and firewall basic issues that prevent remote user connections. Team members are expected to be able to triage incidents quickly using multiple tools provided: Horizon console, VROPS, V4H, R2 HVD Provisioning, Splunk, etc.
• Candidate will need a thorough understanding of life cycle management functions of a virtual desktop from initial provisioning, assignment, reassignment, change, decommission, etc., to reclaim/destroy.
• Experienced in troubleshooting end user issues on hosted virtual desktop technologies using Windows 10, VMware Horizon, and Citrix technologies. Must be knowledgeable of networking, TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, software drivers, external monitor connection & configuration, Chromebook, muti-factor authentication technologies, Remedy ITSM incident processes, Webex, and Skype.

Required Skills:

• Vmware Certification for Horizon
• Vcenter certification/verification
• Powershell scripting

Level of Experience Needed:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in field with direct hands on experience.
