Network / System Engineer III (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking a Security Engineer for our client in Jersey City, New Jersey OR Charlotte, North Carolina. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Description:

• Identify and prioritize use cases and business requirements to address with virtualized security
• Determine technical security requirements and translate them into security policies and standards; plan and guide the implementation of these security controls and solutions
• Design standards and templates for automated virtualized security provisioning and configuration management
• Translates IT security policies into security controls appropriate to SDDC-based cloud environment
• Designs, implements, deploys, configures, and monitors the security solutions and procedures for the SDDC-based cloud environment
• Assists the Cloud Network Architect role in designing and planning the cloud security architecture, security policies, and security processes.
• Works with the Cloud Automation & Integration Developer role to develop the workflows that orchestrate the security controls according to the security policy; develop security monitoring and remediation solutions, workflows and integrations.
• Investigate identified security breaches in accordance with established procedures; recommend and implement any required action
• Work with the IT security functional team to ensure that cloud security services integrate with existing tools and processes; validate that these fulfil IT security & compliance requirements
• Manage security information – including logging, auditing, and reporting capabilities
• Diagnose and analyze root cause of security-related issues; apply patches and fixes as needed
• Implement routine, approved, and exception security-related changes in the virtualized infrastructure
• Assess and test upgrades and patches for virtualized networking and security infrastructure and tools
• Determine auditing and reporting processes for virtualized security impacting compliance
• Provide level 3 support as needed to work within defined SLA or OLA resolution period
• Conduct security risk assessments for cloud workloads and infrastructure; provide authoritative advice and guidance on security strategies to manag

• Education
• Data Center Virtualization Fundamentals
• NSX Install, Configure, & Manage or NSX for Internetworking Experts Fast Track)
• NSX: Troubleshooting and Operations
• NSX (security related), vRealize Operations, vRealize Log Insight, & vRealize Network Insight Hands-on Labs

Level of Experience Needed (highlight):

• Desired: BS/MS or equivalent
• 5-10 Years of experience with VMware products and related integration
