SkillStorm is seeking a .NET Developer for our client in Jersey City, NJ. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.
Job Description:
- Requirement for an experienced .Net developer to work as part of an Agile team on high profile projects within the Risk Technology group. Our team support the New Product Review and Approved Product List business processes.
- This exciting role is well suited to individuals with a keen interest in investment banking. It offers opportunities to learn about risk in banking as well the opportunity to work with technologists and business professionals from around the world who are experienced in delivering successful large scale solutions.
Role / Responsibilities / Key Objectives:
- Work as part of a team of developers, business analysts, testers and Risk Technology customers focusing on the area of Model Risk
- Maintain strong communications among and between team members and business team
- Ensure projects follow processes and meet project standards
Essential Skills:
- Strong Hands on experience on .NET Framework 4.5, ASP.Net 4.5, C# 5.0., ASP.Net MVC, Web API, Angular.js.
- Sound knowledge of SQL Server (2012, 2014), WCF, REST services.
- Strong experience in Object Oriented design & development.
- Exposure to various DevOps tool such as JIRA, Git, Ansible, Arifactory, Jenkins.
- Should be able to work independently.
- Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
- Should have Web Development experience using Javascript, HTML 5, CSS 3, JQuery, Bootstrap, Ajax.
- Exposure to Application Design.
- Experience with Test Driven Development.
- A passion for the delivery of high quality solutions which address real business needs
- Good interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written). We work on global projects and the ability to communicate efficiently is essential.
- Proven ability to work on own initiative in a fast paced environment with attention to detail.
- Hands on approach required with ability to multi-task / prioritise tasks along with demonstrable pragmatic decision making capability.
- Knowledge of Capital Markets and an understanding of Global Markets financial products, business processes and terminology, is advantageous.
- Should learn and use new technologies in the project when required.
- Should assist in the application release activities during onshore/offshore working hours when required.
- Degree/Masters or equivalent by experience
Desired Skills:
- Familiarity with CODE / Jira.
- Agile – Scrum/Kanban knowledge
- Relational database skills, including use of SQL for analysis
- Knowledge of Agile development methodology
- Exposure to Risk Management
- Exposure to Banking and Finance Domain
