Linux System Administrator (Closed)

Responsibilities

• Installation, configuration, and maintenance of:
  • enterprise infrastructure (switches, storage devices, SAN and NAS devices)
  • physical and virtual machines (servers, VMWare ESXi VMs, cloud instances)
  • RHEL-compatible operating systems (RHEL, Oracle Linux)
  • opensource and commercially available Linux services, applications, and technologies
• Implementing new and working with existing backup solutions to perform data backup/restoration
• Documenting processes, procedures, and technical walkthroughs
• Monitoring systems and responding to incidents (at times during off-hours)
• Security vulnerability remediation and system migrations
• Client support via on-site visits, phone calls, emails, and ticketing systems

Required Skills

• Four or more years recent and uninterrupted experience as a Linux System Administrator
• In-depth knowledge of RHEL/RHEL derivative Linux (components, commands, layout, maintenance)
• RHEL Security Hardening procedures and best practices
• Experience deploying Linux services and applications such as LAMP
• Excellent user interface / interpersonal / written and verbal communication skills
• Strong knowledge of common Linux application, service, networking, and storage technologies
• Strong knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, K8s, Podman, Singularity)
• Strong work ethic and an eagerness to learn
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Ability to learn and grow skillset as needed to support client requirements
