Java / Hadoop Developer (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking a Java / Hadoop Developer for our client in Charlotte, NC. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Job Description:

• Responsible for leading a technology team, hands on development, enhancing, modifying and/or maintaining applications in the Global Financial Crimes environment.
• Software developers design, code, test, debug and document programs/activities.
• Work closely with business partners in defining requirements and ensuring acceptance criteria is met for application changes.
• In-depth knowledge of development tools and languages is a must. Individual contributor role. Ability to partner with the multiple Technology teams to implement the target architecture and migration to strategic platform.
• Attention to detail is key and should mentor new team members. The candidate is expected to take responsibility in owning and managing the end to end technical delivery of all the projects.

Required Skills:

• 10 - 12 years’ experience with Java with Strong core java skills including multi-threading, collections API, JDBC and knowledge of Java profiling tools
• Spring framework, Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Test Framework, Spring RESTful services, Transaction Management, Spring Annotations.
• Experience with Hadoop
• Knowledge of performance tuning data intensive applications
• Strong coding, debugging, and analytical skills
• Creative individual with a track record of working on and implementing innovative tech based solutions
• Exceptional problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Software development using agile methodology and processes Desired Skills:
• Background in enterprise stress testing
• Knowledge of cloud computing or distributed computing
• BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or any quantitative discipline

Desired Skills:

• Prior experience in supporting lines of businesses
• Prior development or infrastructure support experience
• Understanding of Agile Kanban and Scrum
• Agile / JIRA
• Degree from outstanding university
