Java Developer (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking a Java Developer for our client in New York, NY. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Job Description:

• We are looking to recruit a developer to work within our Electronic Trading team across Equities and options asset classes. Candidate will be required to develop and enhance one of the applications within Electronic Trading space built in Core JAVA and interfacing with Data warehouse system which is used for CAT/Regulatory reporting. Candidate should understand the low latency, high throughput design principle with hands on experiences. Candidate will take on a key role within our Trading Technology team, working with multiple partners across technology and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Enhance, support and improve the application/framework to ensure the system can handle the high-volume of data currently being processed by the application.
• Analyze business requirements, develop solutions, test software, investigate and resolve production issues.
• Working extensively with our Automation Testing tool, Workflow Management System and Trading framework essential to this project.

• Core Java

Secondary Skill:

• UNIX/SHELL SCRIPTS

Required Skills:

• Proficient in Core Java, with good understanding of its ecosystem.
• Multi-threading in Java
• Unix scripting and navigation
• Past development experience with an Electronic Trading system
• Past experience with FIX protocol
• Good communication and problem-solving skills

Desired Skills:

• Equities/options market experiences
