SkillStorm is seeking a Java Developer for our client in Charlotte, NC OR New York, NY OR Newark, DE OR New Jersey OR Texas. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Job Description:

• We are looking for a Junior Level JAVA developer with proficient knowledge of developing software applications. This position requires Core Java Development experience using Java 8 or higher. The ideal candidate understands know how to work in a team setting to deliver application features and functionality. Candidate will also work closely with Feature Leads and Senior Developers to learn best practices, while learning area of business. Communication skills will be needed to ensure the correct work is delivered in a timely manner. This environment can be fast paced at times.

• You are an active member of the development team, delivering new functionality, break/fixes and research work to enhance our product. Participates in design, development and implementation of systems; serves as a fully proficient technical developer resource; understands basic tech knowledge and capabilities as team member and individual contributor; open to sharing perspective and new ideas to area. You will take direction from leads and manager. Typically, 1–2 years of professional application development experience.

Required Skills:

Desired Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related field with 1+ years of experience in Information Technology
• Experience with Jenkins, Artifactory, Git, Bitbucket, Ansible and Ansible Tower
• Knowledge of today’s relevant technologies such as NoSQL, Docker, Kubernetes
• Knowledge of Relational Databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, etc.
• Experience in secure programming practices
• Knowledge of test driven development and mocking frameworks like Mockito, EasyMock, jMock, etc.
• 1+ years of UI experience (JavaScript, React or Angular).
