Android Developer (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking an Android Developer for our client in Charlotte, NC. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Job Description:

  • We are looking for a Senior Android Developer to manage the software development life cycle, from planning and prioritizing to testing and release
    The developer will be part of part of a high performing Agile team that works on development and release of new features for Commercial banking Mobile applications. Responsibilities include working with product team to understand the requirements, building Android modules adhering to all quality standards, performing Unit testing of components developed, Performing the code reviews or the components developed by other team members and providing support for production deployments and fixing any post production defects.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze the user requirements
  • Designing, creating, and implementing Java-based applications
  • Interpreting briefs to create high-quality coding that functions according to specifications
  • Determining application functions and building objectives with team
  • Ensuring written falls in line with the project objectives
  • Problem solving with other team members in the project
  • Identifying and resolving immediate and potential issues with applications
  • Drafting detailed reports on the work performed and projects completed
  • Participating in group meetings to discuss projects and objectives
  • Assisting other developers with troubleshooting, debugging and coding
  • Meeting deadlines on fast-paced deliverables

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in Android application development using Java
  • Strong knowledge of Android SDK. different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services
  • Experience with offline storage, threading and performance tuning
  • Knowledge of open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks
  • Familiarity with Cloud message APIs and push Notifications
  • Knowledge of Code packaging using Gradle
  • Knowledge of Secure coding practices OWASP
  • Experience with GIT/Bitbucket
  • Experience in working in an Agile team and using JIRA
  • Good Verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Hybrid Mobile application development is a plus but not a requirement
