Java Developer (Closed)

SkillStorm is seeking a Java Developer for our client in Charlotte, NC. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Job Description:

• Responsible for design, development and maintenance of automated tools used to support testing and reporting activities.
• Automation solutions include Java based web applications, standalone SpringBoot application, Unix Shell Scripts/Apache Spark (reporting).
• Position will be expected to implement test automation solutions using popular frameworks like Selenium, Cucumber, Appium.
• Passion to keep up with the latest trends in web/mobile automation and appropriate technologies available.
• Will involve POC with upcoming technologies to create fast and repeatable test strategies for functional and ADA testing of web and responsive mobile-web applications.
• Support QA engineers with training and troubleshooting automated test script creation and execution.
• Proactively determine bottlenecks and propose future performance needs based off architectural and product changes, with general guidance from consultants.
• Work closely with development, product and management teams in a fast-paced technical environment.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor or Masters Degree in Computer Science or related field
• 5+ years of hands-on software development experience
• Experience building web applications using J2EE technologies and frameworks like Struts2, Spring
• Experience building RESTful and consuming RESTful services
• Good interpersonal communication skills for tech and business conversations
• Good analytical skills to break down requirements, solve complex problems

Desired Skills:

• Ideal candidate would have a well-rounded experience working with client-side technologies like AngularJS and plugins, jQuery; server-side development w/ Java; as well as handling basic Oracle DB operations.

• Programming language – Java, JavaScript
• Database – Oracle 12c
• Application Framework – Struts2, SpringBoot
• UI Framework – AngularJS 1.8.x
• Testing Framework – Selenium, Appium, Cucumber
• At least 5 years of experience in Java/J2EE Technology.
• 5 years of working experience on different J2EE frameworks like Struts, Spring etc.
• At least 2 years of experience in Project life cycle activities on development and maintenance projects.
• At least 2 years of experience in Design and architecture review.
• Experience authoring and implementing REST Services.
• Worked in an Agile Environment.
• Ability to exercise independent thought and judgment and adapt to new tasks.
• Analytical skills to identify root cause and come up with solutions/alternatives
