Java Application Support Lead

SkillStorm is seeking a Production Support for our client in Plano, TX. Candidates must be able to work on SkillStorm's W2; not a C2C position. EOE, including disability/vets.

Job Description:

  • Resource is required to be on the assignment for the required hours as specified in the job description. Forty hours per week is the expectation in the absence of specified hours. Attendance and punctuality are essential components of the position; therefore, unexcused absences and tardiness could result in dismissal. 10 + years. Provides support after the solution goes live. If resources provide support from development through production, role should be chosen based on where the majority of their time is spent. Production support from this role will typically fall into the third level of support: minor enhancements, batch optimization, patches, etc. Will also have extensive experience of supporting highly specialized technologies and / or business units 
  • Production Services is responsible for running the day to day operations of the Deposits midrange platform. Real-time restoration and triaging of issues impacting technical services (application/infrastructure) to bank customers and partners in a timely manner while keeping partners advised of significant progress or challenges during the restoration period. Assesses initial severity, gather impacts, creates or updates Remedy tickets.  Lead triage calls, keeping the necessary focus on restoral, making sure all necessary teams are engaged and focused on their tasks, and providing updates to leadership and stakeholders regarding progress toward restoral via tools, email and phone. Must be flexible, adapt easily to changing priorities and be able to learn about a variety of technologies very quickly.

Required Skills:

  • Experience with Middleware components - App servers, Databases, basic scripting
  • Experience with Webservices, UNIX, XML, Oracle/DB2, SQL
  • Experience with tools like TOAD, Autosys, Bladelogic
  • Experience with troubleshooting, restarting batch jobs
  • Experience with monitoring tools like Splunk, App Dynamics, Sitescope etc
  • Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a rapidly evolving environment
  • Flexible with work schedules

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with ETL (Datastage/Informatica) or Hadoop is desired
  • Production Support Experience is desired
